Chapter 963: One Spark and It’s All Up in Flames

Su Shen’s face suddenly leaned in closer. @@novelbin@@

His sharp, angular features—those brooding brows and strikingly handsome jawline—were almost hypnotic.

Gu Zi found herself caught off guard, completely drawn in. When his lips met hers, she blinked in astonishment.

What? He just kissed me out of nowhere? Doesn’t he need to take his medicine first?!

But her surprise melted away almost instantly when his tongue slipped into her mouth. At that moment, all her fleeting thoughts scattered. Yes, it had been days since their last kiss. Her husband might have been craving her, but if she was honest, she had been craving him too.

Gu Zi’s body responded instinctively, her lips moving against his, her kiss meeting his with equal fervor.

Su Shen, ever the opportunist, seized the moment, his tongue boldly exploring her mouth, stirring a sweet, intoxicating rhythm that made a soft, audible sound. It was the kind of sound that would make anyone’s face flush with heat, but right now, Gu Zi didn’t have the luxury of feeling shy.

Because Su Shen was far too irresistible at this moment.

His strong arms slipped under her, lifting her effortlessly as he walked toward the desk.

By the time he set her down, his arousal was unmistakable. His lips left hers, trailing heated kisses down her pale neck, then lower still, brushing across her collarbone. Even through the fabric of her blouse, she could feel the warmth of his mouth as he teased her sensitive skin.

Her body melted under his touch, her breaths growing softer, sweeter, laced with an undeniable allure. She could feel herself responding to him, the heat pooling deep within her, her underwear dampened by her desire. But she didn’t care—there was nothing shameful about it.

In fact, Gu Zi thought there was something profoundly beautiful about this. To be wanted, to want back, especially with someone she loved? It was perfection.

Su Shen’s hand slipped under her blouse, caressing her soft, full breasts with reverence.

He had to admit to himself, he’d meant to take her advice and have his medicine first. But when she had risen earlier to fetch it, the curve of her back as she moved had stirred a flood of memories in his mind. And now, he couldn’t hold back.

He needed her, and waiting until they got home wasn’t an option anymore.

When had he become so insatiable? So impatient that even the office wasn’t off-limits? He didn’t know, and at this point, he didn’t care.

Lifting her once again, he carried her into the rest area, gently laying her down on the narrow bed. It wasn’t as spacious as their bed at home, but he would manage. He shrugged off his shirt, unbuckling his belt with practiced ease, when a voice outside the office interrupted him.

“Brother Shen, I’ve left the order on your desk for signing,” came an employee’s voice from the door.

Gu Zi froze, her senses snapping back to reality. She held her breath, waiting for the footsteps to fade before whispering urgently, “Su Shen, let’s not. What if someone comes in again? We can just—”

She had meant to finish her sentence by offering to “reward” him properly at home later, but before she could get the words out, Su Shen silenced her with another kiss. His tongue parted her lips with ease, dominating her senses.

Simultaneously, she felt him pressing himself against her entrance, the slickness there drawing a satisfied gleam to his eyes. His kisses deepened, becoming almost feverish.

Of course, the universe had a way of ruining even the most passionate moments. Just as he entered her, the door outside opened again.

“Where’s Brother Shen?” someone muttered. “He was just here a minute ago…”

“Idiot!” A woman’s voice—likely one of the employee’s wives—hissed, though her words were still loud enough to carry. “Do you ever see Brother Shen shut the door to the rest area? No? Use your brain! He’s obviously in there with his wife. Don’t be a fool and interrupt their business. Young couples like them, especially after a week apart, are like dry wood meeting fire—one spark and it’s all up in flames.”

Gu Zi recognized the voice and wished the floor would swallow her whole. The woman was notoriously talkative, and her vivid commentary only added fuel to her mortification.

Yet Su Shen, utterly unfazed, continued his rhythmic movements inside her, his lips brushing against her forehead as he murmured, “Don’t worry. No one will interrupt us again.”

She wanted to scream at him for being so shameless, but instead, she found herself surrendering once more to the pleasure he so expertly delivered.

Only Su Shen could reduce her to such a state—where her inhibitions melted away and nothing else mattered.

Later that afternoon, Gu Zi rested in the break room while Su Shen attended to some work. Once finished, he drove her back to the city. Rain drizzled softly against the car’s windows, the air inside heavy with the scent of damp earth.

“It’s stuffy in here. Can you crack the window a little?” Gu Zi asked.

Su Shen obliged, but as soon as the window opened, a foul, putrid smell wafted in—something like rotting carcasses.

Gu Zi wrinkled her nose, and Su Shen immediately rolled the window back up, pulling the car to a stop. His expression darkened, clearly sensing the same thing.

Gu Zi’s mind raced. She hadn’t smelled anything like this when she arrived earlier. If it were a fresh carcass, it wouldn’t have reeked this badly yet. But if it had been there for a while, why hadn’t anyone noticed during the daily inspections around the pig farm?

A chill ran down her spine as realization dawned. Someone had to be sabotaging them. Su Shen’s instincts were right—taking on that client would have spelled disaster.
